Voice Overs
I did a fun interview with Voice Coaches the other day. They are the organization where I received my training from. While I have a long way to go in terms of reaching my utltimate goals of going full time as a voice actor, I’m getting closer all the time. I’ve been blessed with lots of success in a reasonably short amount of time due partly to dedication and hard work, but from some great coaching and tips from pros in the voice over community and my friends at Voice Coaches. Over the summer I worked on a book project called "Come Back, Como" by Steve Winn. It's a funny story about a man's hilarious (and agonizing) quest to win the trust of a shelter dog that he and his family adopted. It's a funny and touching story that is fun to read. There is now an audio version of the book available that I had the privilege of voicing. Though it was a lot of work, it was also a lot of fun. Even had the opportunity to throw in a Hispanic and Australian character voice. If y... Continue reading ...

Voice acting like any other art, is very competitive, but if you have the desire, the heart and a God given gift for this kind of work, you can succeed. I've been in radio for over a decade but not seriously into voice acting until the last few. I have found the voice over community very kind, helpful and encouraging. The best piece of advice I have received from my coaches at the Creative Voice Development Group (Voice Coaches). If you want to succeed in this business you must decide to ... Continue reading ...

I recently landed an audio book job for Harper/Collins publishing on http://voices.com . This is the largest project I’ve had to date and while it was an entertaining book, I found that audio book projects are much more difficult than I had anticipated when you are the one doing the reading, acting, recording and editing. Those annoying little noises your mouth can make while speaking seem to get amplified when working on a project like this. I tried to control the “saliva clicks”... Continue reading ...

Voice Overs
Since making the transition from radio announcing to voice acting I have found that there is an incredible amount of work available out there if you know where to look. The issue is, there are also many other fine voice actors trying to get that work as well.
It’s easy to get discouraged when you audition for hundreds of jobs with nothing to show for it. However, I am thankful that my coaches at Voice Coaches taught me from the get go that you need to keep at it. Many people drop out o... Continue reading ...

Thanks to encouragement from a friend on this social site, I’m excited about launching a new web site a www.paulhernandezvoiceman.com. I have found the voice over industry to be fun and challenging. I have also found the pros in this industry to be not only professional, but kind and encouraging as well. Thanks to all of you!
As I learn more and more about this industry and the craft, I realize that there is always something more to learn. That to me is one of the things that makes thi... Continue reading ...
